Life is full of firsts...

We drew our first blood tonight. D'Laney has been pulling up on everything in sight, and tonight we forgot to put up our tv trays before we let her down. Sure enough, she went right for it and pulled it smack down on top of herself before we could get to her. The edge of the tray hit her square in the lip and busted it pretty good. Her second tooth has been trying to come in and hasn't quite made it through the gum yet...until tonight, it was busted too. But our little toughy only cried for about 2 minutes and then was more interested in sucking on the ice cube we had on her lip. She's such a trooper!

I used to not like the idea of blogs. I thought, who would waste time posting the mundane aspects of life every day, and who would seriously read it. Well, I would. I've really come to enjoy reading what goes on in the lives of my friends and family. Watching their kids grow, updates on their careers, etc. It's such a small glimps into lives that we should keep up with better anyway. So that's how I've come to view blogs now. It's a way to keep in touch when we don't have time to keep in touch. So here's what's going on with the Holifield's now...
Cameron, D'Laney and I just moved to Stanton, TX. Cameron has begun working out of Midland, and we didn't want to live in a town that big. We found a 100 year old house in Stanton that we absolutely love. I'm still staying home with the baby, and Cameron is working for Trey Trucks. D'Laney is now 9 months old and is just amazing. She could win an olympic medal in crawling and is just weeks away from walking. She holds entire conversations with herself, and raises her eyebrows and her voice when she's trying to make a point. I can't wait to know what that little girl thinks about things, because I'm sure, like her momma, she has an opinion on everything. She is a beautiful, smart, yet tiny creature that reminds us everyday how blessed we are and how awesome our God is.
