- Last thursday, D'Laney hit 21 months. That's 3/4 of her second year! I can't believe that in 3 months she'll be 2 years old, way beyond being a baby. She talks constantly, and we actually understand about a third of what she says. We can usually catch the drift of what she means, even if we can't understand each and every word. She has taken up singing again, and has decided that dancing isn't as much fun as it used to be. She still loves to watch "memu" (Nemo) and gets to often when I'm not feeling well. We get hugs and kisses all day long and D'Laney doesn't care if we're paying attention or not. She'll walk up behind us and hug our legs and kiss them. She's even more affectionate with her baby dolls, which is encouraging. She's ready to potty train, but I'm not. Not that I have any emotional hangups about it, I'm so ready for her to be out of diapers, but potty training takes more energy and attention than I have to give to it right now, so I'm trying to put it off until the second trimester.
- Speaking of the second trimester, I'm only 2 weeks away! I know that the day I hit 12 weeks, all this yuckiness isn't going to magically disappear, but I'm hoping it eases up a little. I still have more sick days than well days, but it's starting to even out. My sick days are really sick though. Yesterday was probably my worst one to date, but today I feel pretty good so far. I was even able to eat some toast and have a glass of milk without feeling like it was coming right back up. The baby is really growing right now, my stomach is really sore. I can't wear my regular pants anymore, and even my loose tshirts are tight on my tummy. I feel like I look about 4 or 5 months, not just under 3. But oh well, I carried early and large with D'Laney, too. We have an appointment on monday where we should hear the heartbeat. I'm hoping that will cement it a little more in my mind that I am indeed pregnant. I don't know what the problem is, I just still don't feel it. I mean, I very much physically feel it, but like Cameron said the other day, it's like we're just telling this big lie. Maybe when we hear the heart beat, or when we know if it's a boy or a girl. That appointment is still 2 months away.
- We've been traveling the last couple weeks watching Landon in the playoffs. They should play here in midland this weekend, but we'll have to go to angelo on friday for Landon's graduation.
- The oilfield is so slow. We're not struggling yet, but if things keep going much longer the way they are, we will be. We've decided to sell our house now, while the market is still pretty good and while we have some time before we have to sell it. We're still working out exactly where we'll go and what we'll do afterwards, but we've got some things in the works that look like they'll work out pretty good (and may even get us out of the oilfield, yay!) Please keep us in your prayers. Change is always stressful, and trying to get things figured out and settled before the baby comes is adding to that a lot. We're pretty confident and even a little excited about these possible changes, but never the less, prayers are always helpful. And if anyone is looking for a house in the midland area, we've got a great one!

21 months, 10 weeks, and other things

MA!!!!
I should be using the time that D'Laney is napping to get some rest myself, but I'm sick of looking at my super negative previous post. That was a bad day, I shouldn't have gone on and on like I did. Here's a little of what we've been up to the last few days.
- Not much.
- Lol, really, we don't do anything. I try to keep D'Laney occupied from my perch on the couch. She has watched way too many videos that last few weeks, and we've done lunch off of tv trays because the smells of my kitchen make me sick.
- We did make it out of the house on Saturday and drove to Angelo to watch Landon play. He's in the playoffs for the 4th straight year, and last year they made it to the state tourney, so they've got high expectations this year. Since he's a senior, I'm going to try to make it out to all the games, since each one has the potential to be his last, in high school anyway. He plays in Abilene tonight, so D'Laney and I are going to leave early this afternoon and mosey over that way. We'll stay with my parents tonight. It's a little out of the way, but I'd rather drive a little less than an hour tonight and then 2 hours tomorrow, than over 2 hours tonight and getting home at 1 or 2 in the morning.
- Cameron flew out yesterday morning to go fishing in the Gulf with some college buddies of his. He'll be back Wed. night.
- D'Laney was finally saying momma... for a few days. She has since decided that two syllables is too much to say and has shortened it to just Ma. And she screams it. She'll walk around the house yelling at the top of her lungs "Ma!" Cameron says she needs a wife beater with a gold chain and a Jersey accent. She has also begun shrugging her shoulders and saying "I don't know." Where's your paci..."I don't know." Do you want some juice..."I don't know." Are you going to have a baby boy or a baby girl..."I don't know." At least that one she's answering correctly. Cameron patted my belly the other night and said baby, so now she's doing it. I'm kinda scared she'll start doing that to everyone and that could be embarrassing.
- I broke out the maternity box last night. I can still wear my regular pants, but I don't have any capris or summer pants that aren't maternity, so I'll probably go ahead and start wearing them. And I'm more than filling out maternity tops. I might as well start wearing them all now. All I have are summer clothes, so I'll have to buy some more when the weather tuns cold in the fall, and I want to get my money out of these now.
See? Not much. Hope everyone has a great week!

Warning: LOTS of complaining ahead!
I hate being pregnant. It totally sucks! I know there are lots of women who love being pregnant, who are never sick or uncomfortable and feel better than they ever have, and I'm really happy for them. I'm just not one of them. I love being a mother, and going through all this crap is a trillion% worth it, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it, and I'm not one to fake it and say, oh, I don't mind it too much. I do mind it, I hate it, and the only good thing about it is there is a complete cure... delivery. I'd rather go through the first month of infancy for 9 months in a row than through pregnancy again. But it's a necessary evil, like taxes, and I just have to bare down and make it through. But not without totally ranting about it first:)
Reasons I hate being pregnant:
- Morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon, late afternoon, evening, night, and late-night sickness. If it was just throwing up, it wouldn't be so bad. When I was so sick with D'Laney, I wasn't nauseous like this, I just puked a lot. Now, I can't move without losing my balance and then my lunch. Smells set me off, sounds set me off, just the thought of some things makes me want to hurl. What sucks is that I haven't really thrown up that much, even though that's exactly what would make me feel better.
- I'm exhausted. I'm used to being tired most of the time, that's one of the biggest side effects from my allergies, but this kind of tired is completely foreign to me. There have been nights that I've gotten between 10-12 hours of sleep, and it's still not enough. I know that chasing D'Laney all day has a lot to do with it, but she's pretty low maintenance most of the time.
- Drinking water. I hate water, but I'm forcing myself to drink more of it. I was in the hospital for several days at around 6 months last time with a massive kidney infection, and I do not want to go through that again. However, no matter how much water I drink, I still feel like I'm just one coke away from another kidney infection. I can actually feel my kidney's struggling to work right. I guess I should go ahead and take the medicine the doc gave me for that.
- Speaking of coke... *sigh* I miss coke. Coke and I have a love affair that few experience in their life, and I'm on restrictions. I can still drink it, thank goodness or I'd have some serious withdraws, but I can't have more than one or two glasses or cans a day. It makes me so sad.
- I'm already showing. This really isn't such a bad thing. I still had some leftover baby belly from D'Laney, so I did have a head start, but my sister assured me this weekend that it's definitely baby bump she saw. What sucks is that even when I was really skinny, I have a very sunken belly button, and with the baby bump plus the layer of blubber, it's like a cave in the middle of my midsection. I actually put a cotton ball in there and covered it with a band aid the other day, and it smoothed it right out. I'll probably do that until I pop. Isn't it funny what you become insecure about?
- Apparently my body was much more excited about being pregnant than I was, because it's rushing to get back to the state it was in. My boobs are huge already, like seriously, a whole cup size in about a month, and the belly's already out there. All this means is that I can't lay on my tummy anymore. I have a very difficult time getting comfy in bed any other way.
- My stomach already aches. The baby goes through growth spurts in utero just like in childhood, and I remember every time D'Laney would have one, my stomach would be sore from the sudden growth. It feels like that all the time now. Maybe this baby is just having one long growth spurt, which kinda scares me, knowing the size of my last baby.
- My emotions are crazy! I pride myself on being a very non-emotional person, that's my dad in me, but I can't keep from bawling like a big ol' baby these days! About everything from a commercial on TV or a simple conversation with my husband to a very minor milestone for D'Laney. She has begun to string two words together, simple "Bye, Daddy!" or "more, please" or "no, thank you." Not a huge deal right? Wrong when you're crazy like me! I start crying every time she does it. I am super proud of her for using manners without being prompted anymore, but is that reason to cry so much I give myself a headache? And poor Cameron, he is soooo not used to this side of me. He kinda keeps a bewildered look on his face most of the time.
- But I do love that man. He has been so sweet. He still has to leave the room when I vomit, but he's always asking what I can do for me or if there's anything he can get me. Most of the time, all I really need him to do is keep D'Laney occupied and away from me when I'm feeling really bad, and he loves to do that. It's a very good thing those two are so attached to each other, because in a few months, all they'll have is each other. Not completely, but, yeah, pretty much completely.
I shouldn't complain so much, there are women who have much worse pregnancies, and there are women who can't get pregnant at all. I do thank God each and everyday for blessing us with another child, I'm just ready to be through growing this child. And I don't have to keep reminding myself what the end result will be, I get to watch her play and sing and dance and love on me every single minute of everyday. I just have to think of it in terms that I relate too: football. This is just the two-a-days in August. The throwing up, the dizziness, the being so tired you can't stand, all that will give way to the good stuff, the games. And I do love the game!!!

catching up on videos
Be sure and check out the picture post below!
Learning to wink!
D'Laney had one Wall football and one Iraan football. We're not pressing our prejudices on her just yet!
Cameron's aunt Neva got a new boxer puppy name Annie. She is so sweet and of course D'Laney just loves her! I keep telling Cameron we need to get that girl a puppy, although it might not be such a good idea now.
Hunting eggs at easter. She really got the hang of it. This is just a snippet of the whole video I took.
just for you, Lucas
My brother informs me that I need to update my blog. Things must be really slow at Angelo Pellets! All he (and probably everyone else for that matter) really wants are pictures of "the bug" as he likes to call her. So here's some pics from the get-together at the Grigsby's, playing at the park with daddy, the shiner she got from a fall, and just some random cuteness.

It was so strange having the biggest kid there!

baby details
OK, so maybe it's just Cameron and I that quote movies all the time. The one's I had quoted were Juno, Fools Rush In, Knocked Up, and Steel Magnolias. That's why my husband loves me, I'm obsessive about football and I can quote totally random movies like one of the guys. On to baby!
We were not trying for this kid. We were planning on trying in the next couple months, but God had sooner plans. We went to the doctor Friday and everything looks great! It's very early, but we were able to get a sonogram, and surprise, surprise, the baby is already measuring a little bit bigger than it's age. My official due date is December 23, but Dr. Hajovsky said we'll probably take him/her 7 to 10 days early for several reasons: repeat C-section, so early to avoid any chance of me going into labor, proximity to Christmas, the fact that we live 2 hours away from Angelo, and the size of my babies (D'Laney was over 9 lbs!) I'm so glad, too, because I was NOT happy about having a Christmas baby, but having him/her a little earlier (we're thinking around the 14th) will give me some time to heal before the rush of the holidays. The one good thing is that my mom will be out of school for a couple weeks, so I'll have both grandmothers able to help. This pregnancy is so different already:
- I've had a handful of nauseous days, but I've only thrown up a few times. When I was so sick with D'Laney, I would throw up all day, but very rarely did I feel nauseous. With this one, there have been a couple of days (both Sundays, too, isn't that weird?) where I couldn't get off the couch all day. I felt like I was on a boat in a storm. There have been a few other days where a wave will come over me because of a smell or the thought of a certain food, but it will pass. I'm cautiously optimistic that I've got good old fashioned morning sickness that will wrap up with the first trimester, but I'm prepared if it's not. I went ahead and got a prescription for the meds that I had to go on with D'Laney just in case I need it.
- I am utterly, completely, bone-tired exhausted 24/7. I don't remember being this tired with D'Laney, but then again, I wasn't chasing D'Laney all day. I go to bed early, lay down on the couch when I can, and try to nap when she does, but I still can't shake it. Hopefully it'll go away in the next few weeks.
- I've had heartburn that I didn't have before. But only when I eat sweets, like chocolate.
- I'm hungry all the time.
- Even though I'm exhausted, I'm nesting already. It comes in spurts, but I have overwhelming urges to rearrange and reorganize my whole house. The bad part is that I skip over regular old daily chores to do this. I'll say to myself, I'll clean out my jewelry box for the first time in 5 years, and then I'll wash dishes. Only problem is, once I'm done with the jewelry box, I'm so spent, I have to lay down for a while just to regain the energy to walk to the kitchen, much less stand there to wash the dishes.
- Which leads in to the fact that my attention span has shortened to almost nothing. I can't stand to do one thing for more that 5 minutes (it's taken me a couple hours to blog to this point) This was something that started when I got pregnant with D'Laney, and got a little better after she was born, but not much. Now it's back to getting bored really easy. I don't have the patience to fold an entire load of laundry in one setting, or wash an entire sink of dishes. I'll start 10 different things, then bounce back and forth between them.
- My body remembers being pregnant and has gone right back to it. My boobs are already huge again, which I HATE!! And I'm already having ligament twinges in my lower stomach. The doc called it "warmed up syndrome" which means just that, my body is already warmed up to grow a baby. The twinges aren't bad and they go way pretty fast.
Despite all these obvious symptoms, I'm still having a hard time believing I'm pregnant. I almost feel like I'm just making the whole thing up and telling people a lie. I've been sick, I've seen the sonogram and there's definitely the beginnings of a baby there, but it just hasn't hit me yet. Maybe when I hear the heartbeat or when we find out what we're having, which isn't until July! I don't think I can wait that long! I really really really want a boy, but if we're blessed with another girl, that'd be great too. Cameron has the feeling that it's a girl, but I think he just says that because he knows I want a boy so bad. We have a great name picked out, great nursery material already bought (you can't pass up 85% off at J. Wilde's, even if you've only been married a couple months!) and some great football genes that I would hate to waste!
I am very excited to share this baby with D'Laney. She loves baby dolls, she holds them correctly, feeds them and gives them juice, wipes off their faces and rocks them to sleep (I know they're asleep cause she turns to me with her finger of her mouth and says shhhh.) I have to remind myself that she'll be almost 2 1/2 when the baby is born and she'll be talking and should understand things pretty well, and that we're not bringing the baby home tomorrow in the middle of the stages she's in right now.
That's really all we know right now. It is still very early, I'm only a few weeks, but the baby appears to be rocking right along. Please keep us in your prayers, that I have a healthier thus more pleasant pregnancy, that the oil field picks up so that Cameron is less worried about bringing another child into his home, and that D'Laney just keeps being the sweet little bug she is and takes all this in stride. I love how Lauri updates every single week on the progress of her pregnancy. I probably won't that often, and I certainly won't be posting any belly pics (after a 9 lb. baby, not a pretty sight!) but I do plan on posting pretty regularly for family to keep up. I hate talking on the phone, so this blog is a great way for me to let everyone know what's going on with our 2 babies (that's still so weird!)

Let's play a game...
Cameron and I can have whole conversations using nothing but movie quotes. Does anyone else do this? Let's play a game, I'll start a movie quote, then you finish the quote and guess the movie. Sounds fun, right? These are some of my favorite movies...
Wow, your shorts are especially gold today.
My mom uses color safe bleach.
Go Carol! So guess what?
What? I don't know, what?
_________
Alex: How've you been?
Isabel: _________
Alison: _________
Ben: Like, with a baby?
What's Jackson getting you for Christmas?
Furniture.
For the living room?
No, for the nursery. We wanted to tell you when you and daddy were together but you're never together. _______________
That's enough for now. Good luck!
