New little boys!

I just found out that D'Laney's two newest cousins, Landon and Eli, will be born tomorrow! Amy is scheduled for a C section tomorrow afternoon, and I ask all of you for your prayers for Landon, Eli, Amy and Dustin. Dustin especially will need your prayers during the operation. Cameron said that going through my C section was one of the most emotional, difficult things he's ever had to endure. I'll let you all know how things went, and Amy's sister Kristin will be updating throughout the day tomorrow, so if you'd like to check in there, here is Amy's blog.

Halloween

While halloween is probably my absolute least favorite holiday ever, it is, none the less, a holiday. And I love holidays if only for the decorating and a reason to socialize. I haven't dressed up for halloween since I was about 7, but I get to come up with costumes for D'Laney now. Last year, she was a chili pepper, but she was only a couple months old, so the costume swallowed her and all we did was put it on her, take a couple pictures and take it off. I'm debating just using the same costume this year, it will still fit her, and it saves me from having to buy or make her another one. We'll see, I still have a few weeks to think about it. Meet Aubrey

I've begun keeping this precious little girl on Wednesdays. She is 8 weeks old and such a good baby. D'Laney just loves her. I have to watch her like a hawk because she wants to hug and kiss Aubrey all day long, and she doesn't quite understand what it means to be gentle yet. I was very curious to see how D'Laney would adjust. She's very sociable for a baby who stays home with mom all day, but I thought she might have a problem being in her home with some new baby being held by her momma. But she's done really well. She just gets a little upset when she's tired and ready for a nap, and I can't just jump up and get her bottle that second. I think it helps that Aubrey is so good and doesn't cry. We might have stayed home on a Friday night in September (weird for us, I know) but high school football wasn't far from our minds. Our little cheerleader in training was in full Wall Hawk regalia. I have no doubt this little one is going to make a great cheerleader. She yells all the time and the higher you throw her the happier she is. At Wall, the school buys the cheerleading uniforms and they're passed down from year to year, so Cadye wore some of the same ones I did. This particular top was new my senior year and was our favorite, even though it was one of the most uncomfortable ones we had. Somehow after Cadye's senior year, she ended up with one. I'm not sure if she "forgot" to turn it in or what, but she gave it to me this summer. D'Laney found it in the bottom of my closet last night and Cameron put it on her. I was so proud! She looks great in Wall Hawk green! And it was funny because one of her favorite toys is one of those little footballs they throw after touchdowns. It fit perfectly with the outfit!

I need some help!

OK, girls, I need your help. While blog stalking (which seems to be so popular right now) I came across someone who was about to give birth. She was looking into hospital gowns that you could order in your own fabric, a website that offered nursing gowns as well. Any one know where I found her? She was a friend of a friend, that's all I can remember. I've been searching for that website for days, and I've been going through each of your friends lists, and I just can't find it! So, if you have any idea who I was stalking, could you let me know? Thanks!

Weigh in and new do

Today D'Laney saw Dr. Patyrak to follow up on the low weight issue. She now weighs....18 lbs. 8 oz!! Almost 2 pounds in just over 4 weeks! Dr. Patyrak was very, very pleased. Actually, I think he used like 4 very's. We can now wean her off of formula in the next few days and start on whole milk and solid foods. I was so happy. I can tell she's gained, but I was worried it wouldn't have been enough and we'd have to do something else. What else, I don't know, but now I don't have to worry about it.


We also had to get her 12 month boosters today. 5 shots went into my poor baby, and she did not like it and let me know. After each shot she looked at me like, how dare you let these people touch me? I don't think I've ever been glared at by a toddler before. But she only cried for a couple minutes and has been happy go lucky as usual every since. She's a little feverish, but not enough to slow her down. I'm going to keep giving her tylenol through tomorrow just in case. A happy side effect from tylenol is drousiness, so maybe I'll get to sleep through the night! (Does that make me a terrible mom? Wanting my kid doped up so I can sleep?) Oh well!


I also wanted to share these pictures. D'Laney has quite a lot of hair. It's a pretty shade of brown and kind of wavy like her daddy. However, it's all on the back of her head. She's pretty much bald on top. Yesterday she was sitting on my lap watching TV and I got to playing with it, thus...

And she loves this baby doll that Dustin and Amy gave her for her birthday. She carries it around singing to it and gives it hugs and kisses. She's practicing for those little boys!!


Oh yeah!! Cameron is quitting snuff!! He hasn't had a dip all week, as far as I know. If you can't tell, I'm a little excited. I'm so proud of him, I know that this is a hard, hard thing for him.

New book

Just saw that Nicholas Sparks is releasing a new book on the 30th!

Yay! And the movie version of one of my favorites of his is being released on the 26th!!

My aunt made this doll from material that my great-grandmother had for years, so it means alot to us. Grandmother Ford died the year before D'Laney was born at the very young age of 97.
